Learn More about the Latest Trend with Car Insurance Companies Nationwide

By Tye Farnsworth

As a long time Central Oregon Car Insurance agent I’ve seen many trends in the car insurance industry but sadly nothing is as alarming as the latest trend of many nationwide companies overcharging drivers for their car insurance.

Who Is Overcharging?

Thanks to a recent analysis from the Consumer Federation of America we know that major companies like Geico and Progressive are overcharging drivers for car insurance and drivers who don’t have any accidents or convictions on their records are not able to get car insurance for less than $500 a year.

Penalized For Driving Too Much?

The Consumer Federation of America survey confirms that drivers in 50 major urban areas across the United States are being overcharged for car insurance even though most drivers are only using their vehicles to go to work or school.

Will The Consumer Federation Of America Help?

Although the CFA study proves that most Americans are getting overcharged for car insurance the question which the average driver wants to know is what’s going to be done about it?

Will drivers still continue to be overcharged or will business in the car insurance industry continue as normal?

Sadly only time will tell if any real progress will be made on lowering car insurance premiums in the next 12 months because of this study.

What You Can Do To Lower Your Central Oregon Car Insurance

Step 1 – Comparison shop for low car insurance premiums using the internet.

Step 2 – Ask your insurer for a bundle rate to combine your insurance policies together.

Step 3 – Drive fewer miles per year. By driving less you will be able to reduce the wear on your vehicle and car insurance premium at the same time.

Step 4 – Protect your vehicle by purchasing a car alarm or vehicle protection system.

Step 5 – Park in a garage at night or well-lit area.

Step 6 – Move to a safer neighborhood.

Step 7 – Don’t loan your vehicle out to other drivers who are not on your insurance policy.
