There’s no denying that the weather is getting cooler in Central Oregon and with the change in weather will come more days that drivers here will be using their headlights more but, sadly, the average Central Oregon vehicles headlights will not be ready to shine brightly during the fall and winter months but thankfully, cleaning headlights is something that anyone can easily do from home if they follow these simple tips.
To clean the headlights on your Central Oregon Vehicle the supplies that you need to get are:
- 1 tube of white toothpaste
- Microfiber Cloth
- Car wax
- Squirt bottle
Getting started with cleaning oxidized headlights is easy, all you need to do is first wash your headlights then apply the toothpaste to the outside of the headlight and use the microfiber cloth to rub the toothpaste in a circular pattern.
Patience Pays Off
Take your time when rubbing the toothpaste in and don’t try to rush this process because, the white toothpaste will help to remove oxidation and make your headlights look as good as new.
More Than One Coat May Be Needed
After rubbing toothpaste into one headlight for at least 10 minutes, take a squirt bottle and spray that headlight down then wipe the water off.
If your headlights still looks cloudy after applying the toothpaste you should try using a second and third coat of toothpaste to insure that you’ve given the toothpaste plenty of time to do its job and restore shine to your headlight(s).
After applying toothpaste to your headlights you will want to apply a light layer of car wax to them because, this will help to further remove oxidation and keep your headlights shiny during winter months.
